The Impact of Injustice Appraisals on Psychosocial Outcomes Following Spinal Cord Injury: A Longitudinal Study

For this study, we are recruiting 180 adults with spinal cord injuries who are currently admitted for their first inpatient rehabilitation stay. We want to learn from people living with spinal cord injuries about appraisals of injustice or how they experience feelings of loss, unfairness, and blame related to their injury. Participants will be followed for one year to see how this changes over time. They will be asked to complete a survey during inpatient rehabilitation, then 6- and 12-months post-discharge, answering questions about their injury, emotions, and general quality of life. Some participants also complete a short interview twice a year.
