Examples of Student Involvement

Synthesize Knowledge

Students have been actively involved in scoping reviews, systematically analyzing the existing literature on complex topics like injustice appraisals across mixed trauma and SCI populations. This process hones their critical thinking and gives them a deep understanding of the current state of the science.

Drive Original Research

Our students don't just assist with research; they drive it. They have developed novel research questions using existing lab datasets, conducted sophisticated statistical analyses, and successfully co-authored peer-reviewed publications based on their findings.

Work with National Data

Team members gain invaluable experience working with large, nationally recognized datasets. For example, students have formulated their own research questions using the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model Systems National Database, analyzed the complex data, and published their work in respected academic journals.
